Conflict diamonds

What are conflict diamonds?

Conflict diamonds or "Blood diamonds" as they are sometimes known are diamonds that are sold by non reputable dealers usually at very early stages of the process. These diamonds often fund conflicts and civil wars with the workers having to put up with terrible conditions. Thankfully, only around 1-2% of diamonds are conflict diamonds.

The Kimberley process

Set up in 2003, the Kimberley process involves a large network of countries that mine, export and import diamonds. A list of requirements are put on these countries to ensure only conflict free diamonds are used and they are bought from reputable companies using certificates that are shipped along with parcels of rough diamonds.

The Jeffries policy

We only buy diamonds from legitimate sources and thus, our diamonds are 100% conflict free, all purchased through the Kimberley process with a guarantee from our diamond suppliers.
