Valuations

With a qualified gemologist in store, we are able to offer a fully detailed written valuation for insurance or probate, giving you the peace of mind that you have adhered to the insurers policy and your item(s) are insured correctly.

Unfortunately, items get lost or stolen and there comes a time where you may need to make an insurance claim. This is where a comprehensive insurance valuation allows you and the insurer to be clear on what your claiming for.

This gives you the very best chance of replacing what has been lost with minimal effort. With our valuations, you get two copies, one for your records and one to send to your insurers and we find People are always surprised about what their jewellery is worth should they need to replace it, especially with the rise in gold price in the last few years.

To produce a valuation, we take in your jewellery for approximately 1 week so we can carefully value it before typing up your valuation.

For this service, we charge £25.00 plus 1.5% of the overall value (E.G. 5 items with a total value of £2000.00 would cost £55.00 to value)

We also offer valuations for probate. This is where you need to find a figure that you could expect to achieve should you sell your jewellery on. This is used when relatives need to sell a collection of jewellery to help with the estate and would like a figure of what to expect. As it’s a value when selling your jewellery, its much lower than the insurance value.

For this service, we charge £25.00 plus 3% of the overall value.

Loss letters

If you have lost an item of jewellery or one has been stolen, we can offer a loss letter which uses the information you can give us to try to come up with a replacement value. This does depend on the information you can provide as to whether we are confident we can come to a fair value.

For this service, we charge £25.00 plus 1.5% of the overall value

N.B. We do not currently undertake watches for valuation purposes.
